The Stranger
JM Jimmy Mac

1. Out in the valley of the Rio Grande, a stranger rode to town, cold, dark eyes, steely grin and his holster was tied down. He said, I'm looking for a silver locket on a necklace beaded red, and when I find the man who took it, I'm gonna see him dead.

2. I was out in the field mindin' my own business when the outlaw band came 'round. They used my woman and abused my children and then left them on the ground. When I came home they were already gone, not one of them around. So I made a vow and I swore somehow that I would hunt them down. And now I'm looking for a silver locket on a necklace beaded red, and when I find the man who took it, I'm gonna see him dead.

3. I have five notches in the handle of my pistol and the sixth one waits to pay. I've heard around that he's in this town and today could be the day. Nobody spoke though ev'rybody knew that he wanted big Bart Brown. 'Cause a deadly fear was in the air, since big Bart came to town. He was mean and evil, a low down weasel, not a faster gun around. And now, a stranger, unaware of danger, thought he could put Bart down. Since he said, I'm looking for a silver locket on a necklace beaded red, and when I find the man who took it, I'm gonna see him dead.

4.Then a laugh rang out and the stranger grew solemn as he heard the outlaw loud, and when he turned around to face the sound, he saw the outlaw part the crowd. I hear you're looking for a silver locket on a necklace beaded red. Well, you just found the man who took it and I'm gonna see you dead.

5. He threw the locket over by the stranger with a smirk across his face. This same man who laughed the stranger down had put his woman to disgrace. With a light'ning draw the stranger cleared leather and the outlaw fell down dead. And the dark-eyed stranger, unaware of danger, had done just what he'd said.
